How many times have you been told to rest more?

When someone sees you yawning or consistently making mistakes, it’s common to hear statements like,

  • “you need more rest”
  • “do you sleep at all?”
  • “how long is your sleep?”

But sometimes you don’t need more rest. You already sleep for 9 hours a day, so what you’re lacking is the quality.

Here’s how to know you’re resting well:

  1. You don’t wait till the weekend to repay your sleep debt.
  2. Your bed isn’t an extension of your workspace.
  3. You prepare to sleep before actually sleeping.
  4. You don’t eat heavy meals at night.
  5. You understand why you need to sleep.

If you ask yourself how often you’ve woken up still tired, your answer would most likely exceed once. Maybe even more than 10 times. And that’s because you’re not sleeping as you should.
